HOLO/OR is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of diffractive optical elements (DOEs) and micro-optical components.
HOLO/OR Ltd. was founded in 1989 by Israel Grossinger and over the past three decades, HOLO/OR has gained considerable experience in the design, modeling and manufacturing of DOEs using proprietary software and tools. HOLO/OR DOEs are used in various fields such as medical, material processing, metrology and scientific research.
We provide technical support and commissioning directly at the place where the equipment will be used. Our team of professionals is always ready to help you choose the scientific equipment that best suits your needs.

Beam forming
Top-Hat or Flat-Top beam shapers are diffractive optical elements (DOEs) designed to transform a nearly Gaussian laser beam into an intensity uniform (flat) spot of circular, rectangular, square, linear or other shape in a defined working plane.
A microlens array contains several microlenses arranged in a square or hexagonal configuration. Such arrays are often used for homogenization, beam forming, and fiber bonding. Holo/Or's microlens arrays are AR-coated to handle high-power lasers often used in medical and industrial applications.
The spiral phase plate converts the Gaussian intensity distribution of the laser beam into a ring-shaped distribution with blurred boundaries. This unique optical element with its stepped spiral structure allows for easy control of the phase of the transmitted beam.
Diffusers and axions
The diffraction diffuser (beam homogenizer) converts any collimated input beam profile into a clear beam with homogenized intensity. Any desired conversion shape can be achieved for any wavelength.
Polychromatic Broadband Diffuser - A micro-refractive diffuser designed for high power broadband applications. Such applications include systems where multiple lasers are used on a single optical path (RGB module), tunable lasers, and frequency-doubled lasers operating over a wide spectral range.
Axicon converts the laser beam into a ring shape (Bessel intensity profile). The thickness of the ring will be equivalent to the size of the diffraction-limited spot (input laser beam). The axicon also converts the point source into a line along the optical axis and increases the DOF depth of field. Each diffraction axion is defined by the propagation angle of the ring.
Light dividers
Light splitters are used to split a collimated incident beam into several beams. The power is distributed among the resulting beams and a 1xN (1-dimensional) or MxN (2-dimensional) array is formed depending on the installation. A diffraction beam splitter is used with monochromatic light, such as a laser beam, and is designed for a specific wavelength and separation angle between its output beams.
DLITe beam splitters are specially designed DOEs that shape a high-power laser beam into a precise array of laser spots. These spots can be dots, lines or flat shapes with clear edges, such as rectangles or squares, with user-defined spacing between them. DLITe technology allows large areas to be patterned without any movement of the galvo scanner or table.
The laser beam sampler allows a high power (zero-order) beam to propagate without interference along the optical axis and create two low energy side beams. These two beams are located to the left and right of the main beam (-1 and +1 orders) and are characterized by a given separation angle between them and the ratio of beam powers.
Diffractive optical elements
Holo/Or offers diffraction gratings that are Binary Dammann gratings. This is a special kind of one-dimensional Dammann grating with a duty cycle of 50%. Multilinear gratings default to transmittance.
A combination lens is used to align the focus of the CO2 laser and the focus of the visible light reference beam at the same point with both beams on the same optical path. The dual wavelength corrects for strong chromatic aberrations between the CO2 laser and the visible reference beam.
The diffractive achromatic lens is ideal for high power laser applications. Due to DOE's precision manufacturing techniques, the lens is aberration-free at the 3 operating wavelengths, resulting in more accurate focusing and higher power density at focus than standard achromats.
Multifocal diffractive optical elements are flat-convex lenses with a fixed focal length and a periodic structure etched on the flat side. The focal length of the lens determines the working distance.
Shaping the focus
DeepCleave is a diffractive optical module designed to focus a single-mode Gaussian beam into a spot with a diameter of ~1.8 µm. A focusing spot of this diameter is suitable for cutting thick glass, flat panels.
The advantage of focal spot devices over multifocus devices is that it produces a continuous intensity profile along the depth of the DOF imaged space and is independent of low energy regions between neighboring focuses.
The diffractive multifocal module (MF) is a specialized solution with different focal length options for systems that provide low beam drag and multifocal DOEs that support diffraction-limited spot size over the entire depth of field.
Additional equipment
Holo/Or has developed a compact universal module for blocking unwanted diffraction orders and the halo effect in homogenizers. It allows the precise shape and energy distribution in the focal plane to be maintained.
A beam expander optimized for use with Top-Hat, Homogenizer, MultiSpot and other DOE beam shapers to meet the need to fine-tune various output parameters such as spot shape/size, separation/divergence angle, etc.
For applications requiring aberration-free imaging in the plane of focus with high precision, Holo/Or has developed a new optimized focusing module containing 5 lenses specifically to work with beam shapers.
For customer convenience, Holo/Or offers a wide range of mounting adapters for DOEs and other optical components. The DOE can be ordered separately from the adapter or already mounted on it. The adapters are suitable for both round and square optics.
